Rev. Fr. Mathew Vattamattam, our Superior General, visited Northeast India delegation from 19 -24 July 2019. Fr. Pius Thuruthiyil, Major Superior extended a cordial welcome to him during the Superiors Meet held on 22nd and 23rd of July, to the region. On this auspicious occasion, he inaugurated the Golden Jubilee year of Claretian presence in India. He also declared this year as the “Year of Bible” for North East India Independent Delegation.
In his inaugural address, Rev. Fr. Mathew explained the rich legacy of our congregation that has been handed over to us for generations.He said,
“It is the opportune time to thank God and renew our commitment as members of the congregation through our own personal renewal. The clear indication for one’s love for the Congregation is seen the way one is able to take care of his vocation, spiritual and physical health”.
He animated the priests with two days program inviting each participant to make the community vibrant and apostolic. He appreciated the presence of the young missionaries, various challenging missions and the inter-culturality existing among the members of the Delegation. He invited everyone to be responsible, accountable and transparent in their dealings. He had meetings with the delegation council and extended council members of the delegation. He illuminated on the importance and the role of the extended council members.
