National Workshop on Library Automation held at SCCZ

Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Bangalore in collaboration with Saint Claret College, Ziro (SCCZ) organised  a three-day National Workshop on Open Source Software for Digital Libraries and Library Automation from 25 to 27 February.

Resource persons Prof Devika Madalli, Head, DRTC, Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore, Prof (Rtd) A R D Prasad, DRTC, Indian Statistical Institute, Bangalore, and Dr Firstborn Sumer, NEHU, Shillong, imparted training appropriate skills, information, and experience in Digital libraries and Library Management Systems. They also equipped the participants with knowledge of the DSpace and KOHA software in an effort to strengthen library automation and digital collection management in North East India, and trained them through demonstration and hands-on-practice on Open Source Software.

Altogether, sixteen participants who are librarians, assistant librarians and students of library sciences from across seven institutions of North East India took part in the three-day National Workshop. This was the 64th workshop conducted by the Resource Persons who are renowned both in India and abroad for their training skills.
